Dogs Day Out, 2019
The purpose of the Dogs Day Out campaign was to have volunteers bring shelter dogs out into the community for some much needed outdoor time, but also to generate interest and bring people to the shelter. I was asked to design a logo and matching business cards for volunteers to hand out.
Right away I had this image of a dog in sunglasses, that I knew needed to be incorporated into the logo. I chose the colors blue, yellow, and green to represent the sky, sun, and grass. The logo itself is a seal with yellow in the center as the sun, and blue rings as the sky.
For the business cards and a kennel sign (in which I could swap out the dog’s photo), I continued with the color palette and created a cute backdrop of a tree-lined field on a sunny day. The whole thing has a very playful feel.
While playing around with color palettes for my logo, my boss happened to see them all laid out as I was working on them, and remarked on how good they all looked together. She then asked me to combine them all into a sort of Pop Art design for use on t-shirts.
