Indisputable

Building the visual identity for one of TYT's flagship news programs

Overview

Indisputable began as a Twitch-exclusive livestream before quickly growing into one of TYT's flagship news programs. As the lead designer for the show's launch, I created its complete visual identity—from the logo and title slate to a flexible broadcast graphics system that supported live production across television, streaming platforms, podcasts, and social media.

The Challenge

The show's host, Dr. Rashad Richey, wanted a visual identity that projected confidence and authority while standing apart from traditional television news. Inspired by the intensity of modern fight sports, the graphics needed to feel bold and energetic without sacrificing professionalism or readability. At the same time, the package had to support the fast pace of a daily live news broadcast and remain adaptable as the show expanded.

Design Exploration

Early concepts leaned heavily into vintage boxing posters before evolving into a cleaner, more modern visual identity that better reflected the tone of the show.

The Solution

I developed a cohesive design system centered around bold typography, textured surfaces, and a custom logo incorporating the Atlanta skyline—a nod to Dr. Richey's hometown. Working closely with the host, the marketing team, and network leadership, I refined the visual direction through multiple rounds of feedback before expanding it into a complete graphics package.

The system included templates for lower thirds, fullscreens, over-the-shoulders, chyrons, transitions, thumbnails, promotional graphics, podcast artwork, and streaming platform assets. Rather than treating each piece as an individual design, I focused on creating a flexible visual language that could be applied consistently across every audience touchpoint.

The final design system established a consistent visual language across every broadcast asset, from on-air graphics to promotional materials.

Daily Production

Once the show launched, the graphics package became the foundation for daily production.

Supporting Indisputable meant producing approximately 60–80 graphics per live broadcast within a two-hour production window. Using the templates I created, I transformed producer requests into broadcast-ready graphics while maintaining consistency, accuracy, and readability under tight daily deadlines. During my time supporting the show, I produced thousands of on-air graphics using the system established during the launch.

Because the templates were built for flexibility, the package continued to evolve while retaining its recognizable visual identity.

The graphics package became the foundation for daily production and remained in use long after launch.

Beyond Broadcast

Reflection

Indisputable was the first complete broadcast graphics package I designed from concept through launch, making it a defining milestone in my career.

Beyond creating an identity for a single program, the project taught me how to translate a creative vision into a scalable design system, balance stakeholder feedback throughout the design process, and create work that could withstand the demands of live production day after day. Looking back, it remains one of the projects I'm most proud of—not only because millions of viewers have seen the work, but because the visual identity continues to serve the show years after it first aired.
